This project, funded by Australian Aid and executed by WWF Pakistan, focused on the implementation of Groundwater Recharge Systems and Ablution Water Reuse Systems in the water-scarce regions of Farash Town and James Town, Islamabad. The goal of these systems is to provide sustainable water solutions by capturing and reusing water, benefiting both the environment and local communities.

Project Steps:

1: Initial Site Visit and Research: Along with my team, we visited the project sites to understand the systems’ components, functionality, and the local needs. This helped us gather crucial data to create accurate and useful materials.

2: 3D Modelling and Design: Using tools like SketchUp, I created detailed 3D visualizations of both systems, showcasing their components and how they operate. This provided a clear visual representation for the end users.

3: Development of Training & User Manuals: I designed comprehensive user manuals for both the Groundwater Recharge and Ablution Water Reuse Systems. These manuals covered the systems’ principles, purpose, detailed components, working mechanisms, maintenance procedures, and advantages.

4: Bilingual Content Creation: To ensure accessibility for both local communities and international stakeholders, the manuals were produced in both Urdu and English. This allowed seamless understanding for local residents and foreign collaborators.

5: Design and Printing: I led the design of both the outer covers and internal pages of the manuals, ensuring they were visually appealing and informative. Each manual was tailored to highlight the specific system it covered, with step-by-step guides, maintenance instructions, and images. Once the designs were finalized, I oversaw the UV printing process in collaboration with SS Printing Solutions, ensuring high-quality production.

6: Delivery and Implementation: Once completed, the manuals were delivered to the WWF Pakistan office in Islamabad, where they were distributed to local communities to guide them in operating and maintaining these systems.

Project Impact:
These manuals play a crucial role in educating and empowering local residents to sustainably manage these water systems, addressing water scarcity in their areas. The bilingual approach ensures that both the local Pakistani community and international stakeholders can easily access and understand the information.
